Apple`s White iPhone 4 Finally Released on Verizon, ATandT

Following months of delays&#151and rampant speculation as to the causes of those delays&#151Apple officially released the white iPhone 4 April 28. Available on both Verizon and AT&T in the United States, the smartphone boasts the same specs as the black iPhone 4 that made its initial debut in 2010. Apple executives had previously indicated that the device would arrive sometime in the spring. Philip Schiller, Apples senior vice president of worldwide product marketing, in an April 27 interview with AllThingsD, suggested that building the white iPhone 4 was challenging with regard to the material science of it&#151how it holds up over time but also in how it all works with the sensors. For months, rumors persisted that ambient light leaked into the prototype white iPhone 4s casing, preventing it from taking accurate pictures, and that Apple was delaying the device until the camera sensor could be isolated. Other rumors suggested issues with whitening the iPhone 4s glass to the desired thickness and opacity. The iPhone 4s body incorporates two panes of chemically strengthened alumino-silicate glass, bound by a stainless-steel antenna rim. In any case, the device is now on the streets&#151and the new question is whether it will attract customers in the sort of droves that usually greet new iPhone releases. In addition to the United States, the white iPhone 4 made an April 28 debut in 27 other countries, including Japan and the U.K. To read the related article, please click here. - ...
