Fortunately, Amazon has finally pushed an updated Amazon MP3 app to the Android Market and the startup bug has now been fixed. Installing the new version will free up a little bit of memory and processor headroom on your Android device, possibly give you a bit more battery life, and -- most importantly -- give you control over when it fires up.
The updated app also adds an option to resume downloads. It's disabled by default, so head to the settings screen if you want to flip the switch.
